1. Ownership
- Onko tämä sinun? - Is this yours?
- Mikä on Suomen pisin silta? - What is Finland's longest bridge?
2. With postpositions
- Kenen kanssa sinä olit? - With whom were you?
- Miksi tämä oli sängyn alla? - Why was this under the bed?
3. Object ending
- Luin eilen hyvän kirjan. - I read a good book yesterday.
- Syötkö tämän omenan? - Will you eat this apple?

4. When something lasts for just one time unit
- Asuin Ruotsissa vuoden. - I lived in Sweden for a year.
- Olin metsässä koko päivän. - I was in the forest for a whole day.
- Elokuva kestää tunnin. - The movie lasts for one hour.
5. Necessive structure
- Minun täytyy lähteä. - I have to leave.
- Sinun kannattaa lukea tämä kirja. - You should read this book.
